Lintangpena.com RABAT – On the evening of Wednesday, His Majesty King Mohammed VI addressed the nation on the 27th anniversary of His accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors. Opening His speech with gratitude to the Almighty for guidance over nearly three decades of service, the King affirmed that He has never sought personal renown, but has always been driven by one purpose: to fulfil His duty, serve the people, and secure for every Moroccan a life of freedom and dignity.
Looking back on this shared journey, His Majesty noted that every milestone achieved came from clear strategic vision, sound governance built on initiative, rigorous oversight, constructive self‑evaluation and bold forward‑looking policies – never by chance. At this defining moment for the nation, He called on all citizens to let confidence and hope prevail, stressing that Morocco’s political and institutional stability is an uncommon and invaluable asset amid growing regional and global turbulence.
Drawing strength from centuries of heritage as a unified nation‑state, Morocco has proven its capacity to organize world‑class events that command global respect, as well as its resilience in responding swiftly to crises such as recent floods. These strengths have driven broad‑based progress: economic growth reached about 4.9% in 2025 and is expected to remain steady or rise this year; good rains strengthened food and water security; and the Kingdom has firmly established itself as a leading hub for industrial, tourism and investment flows.
Morocco now stands as Africa’s top car manufacturer, with an annual output approaching one million vehicles, while exports from the automotive and aeronautics sectors make up more than 40% of total overseas sales – outpacing phosphates for the first time. Early this year, the King presided over the opening of new facilities that brought the country into the global elite of aircraft engine and landing gear producers, while work advances on integrated electric battery supply chains and renewable energy infrastructure. The “Morocco Offer” for green hydrogen has also been launched with the award of initial major projects, placing sustainability at the heart of national energy security.
Against rising protectionism and uncertain supply chains, His Majesty stated that strengthening national sovereignty and self‑reliance is central to industrial strategy. Domestic food and pharmaceutical production now meets around 80% of requirements, while defence and cybersecurity capabilities are being built up to reinforce strategic autonomy and regional leadership. Tourism hit an all‑time high in 2025 with nearly 20 million visitors, and parallel efforts continue to expand social protection and reduce inequality across all regions. The King stressed that integrated local development programmes must reach every community without exception, and urged the financial sector to step up support for small and medium enterprises, innovation and exports, while mobilising national savings more effectively to fund transformation.
On the international stage, Morocco has solidified its standing as a credible, influential and reliable partner, pursuing balanced cooperation agreements that advance shared interests. His Majesty emphasised that the progress made belongs to all generations and spans changes of administration, rooted in long‑term planning and wise national choices. Once upcoming legislative elections have been held and a new government formed, a fresh cycle of development will be launched to build on these foundations and carry forward key reforms.
Closing His address, the King expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering commitment of the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, local authorities, national security bodies, Auxiliary Forces and emergency services in safeguarding the nation’s unity, stability and safety. He also paid solemn tribute to the righteous martyrs of the nation, foremost His late grandfather King Mohammed V and late father King Hassan II, may God grant them peace.
