Lintangpena.com RABAT — King Mohammed VI of Morocco has issued a strong official statement on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in response to the escalating conflict involving Houthi militias and repeated attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Royal Office released the statement following messages sent by the King to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdelaziz Al Saud.
Brotherhood and Shared Destiny
In his messages, King Mohammed VI emphasized the deep spiritual, historical, and fraternal ties binding Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
“Faithful to the bonds of religion and history, our shared destiny, and the solid brotherhood uniting our families and peoples, I stand with you in this difficult hour. Our shared values and responsibilities demand we remain united in defending sovereignty, security, and our most sacred sites.”
The King expressed profound alarm at repeated assaults by Houthi militias against civilian facilities, vital infrastructure, and populated areas — stressing that the gravity of these acts deepens when they target Makkah and Madinah, the holiest sites in Islam.
“These attacks are not merely aggression against Saudi Arabia. They strike at the hearts of more than 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide and violate the very tenets of our faith — values of peace, respect, and sanctity of life and honor.”
One Security, One Destiny
King Mohammed VI affirmed that Morocco and Saudi Arabia share a common security future:
“Saudi Arabia’s security is inseparable from Morocco’s security. Any aggression against Saudi Arabia is an aggression against Morocco. Supporting our brothers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf is upholding what is just and legitimate; defending their highest interests is defending our shared strategic future.”
He held Houthi militias — and all who finance, arm, and back them — fully accountable before God, history, and international law, warning that they must face the consequences.
The King further noted that these actions undermine regional stability and threaten vital maritime routes essential to global trade. They flagrantly violate UN Resolution 2216 (2015) and Resolution 2722 (2024), alongside international humanitarian law.
“These violations cannot and will not go unpunished.”
Morocco reaffirmed its enduring solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting all threats to peace and prosperity across the region.
